Shrimad Rajchandra Educational Aids helps families save money by distributing stationary items at 40% below market prices. Before the start of the academic year, these items are sold at more than 25 centres throughout the state of Gujarat.
For a child, there are few things more exciting than the start of a new school year. Yet for many parents, the cost of school stationery can be a major concern. To ensure that the cost of stationery does not prevent children from attending and excelling in school, we engage in an annual school stationery distribution drive by offering schoolbags, compass boxes, writing-pads, pencils and pens at highly subsidised rates.
Through this initiative, SRLC has reached out to over 8,00,000 children and distributed educational aids worth Rs. 19 crores. Families travel over 100 kilometres to purchase these items for their children, as the quality is superior to what is available in the market, and the lower costs result in greater savings.
The Government of India's National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), an apex development bank with a focus to uplift rural India by increasing the credit flow for elevation of agriculture and rural non-farm sector, has been supporting this initiative for many years.
